Seven HIV+ women got employment after IT training

The small town of Rehoboth south of Windhoek is impoverished and above all many there are living with HIV/AIDS. The town council is allegedly not doing much for development as the residents claim the council is incapable of bringing development due to party politics and infighting. Despite the poor state of affairs of the town council , the town is littered with informal drinking houses ( shebeens) that contribute even more to the town's poverty. One organization that saw the need, specially of the HIV+ women is Orange babies that is funded by the Netherlands. Nampa paid a visit recently to House Magriet as it is known to see what they are doing to help others, while at the same time sustain themselves to help others.

After I posted the story on Nampa's website as well as youtube the volunteers received tremendous interest as far as the USA to expand the IT training among the women so they can improve their own standards as well as that of their children. Sadly in namibia the males are by nature lazy and would opt to hang around shebeens. while the women suffer alone at home to raise the children. In many cases when their husbands arrive home from the shebeens it is often the same women who are beaten at the hands of their husbands, and in some cases women are even beaten to death. This sad state of affairs forced the president of Namibia H.E. Hifikepunye Pohamba to call on men from all cultures to stop killing their wives, girl friends and even mothers.
