Early this year a Cessna 210 made an emergency landing in the Etosha National park, The two passengers and pilot sustained slight injuries, and walked about 5 kilometers in a muddy pan filled ankle deep with salt water to the shore. The Bell Huey of Expedite Aviation was tasked to sling the wreck from the scene to the land. This very same Huey is now in the news because of it's original US Army markings on the tail,. According to the state it holds a safety risk, and as one of the Government employees claimed, " we know how the Americans are, they invade any country overnight" My goodness can you believe that? however the Huey is an Icon, she is a legend and above all a collectors item. Namibia can feel proud to have such an icon on her inventory.

Minister of Finance indicated that ECO tax is not far from being a reality, Namibia is an unspoiled country, and we do not feel the effects of the CO2 emissions yet, however our climate is surely changing, as we lately see above average rainfall figures. The Carbon taxes could be implemented, but as long as we do not change our attitude and behavior towards protecting and conserving, I doubt is this will make a difference.

The small insert on the volatile market of international air travel. According to IATA january was good for pax, but not for freight.
