19 August 2003 was a bad day in the history of the UN when 22 people paid the highest price for the less fortunate, among them the UN Envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello. This day was not in vain as it is dedicated since 2008 to remember and honor all that make a positive difference in other's lives.

The United Nation's contribution towards Namibia's sovereignty started long before independence. Their role in our nation building is much bigger than we can see or understand. And like our own welfare the UN plays also their role in other countries, mostly war torn countries where people are in dire straits, and most likely without the UN assistance would have been a lost case
