Namibian Ministry of lands and resettlement recently tabled their annual 2010/2011 report in the National Assembly. The minister Alpheus !Naruseb said there are shortcomings in the resettlement process, yet they address it. I paid a visit to one of the farms about two hours drive from Windhoek, and was pleasantly surprised to see how the new owners try to make ends meet. How ever there are the "thriller stories" where resettlement farmers messed up the privilege to be part of the elite farmers. Since the Lands Ministry realized the shortcomings they implemented some remedial efforts to ensure new owners do understand the importance of their role in the economy.
