Elderly died in inferno at old age home in Walvis bay

The person who died during a fire at the 

Walvis Bay old age home was identified as 

Baba Els, age unknown. 

The fire broke out around 20h30 on Saturday the Namib Times reported. 

Els who was in the frail care unit died due to injuries 

sustained during the inferno. 

The speedy response of the emergency services 

and assistance from bystanders ensured 

the fire was contained and damage was limited.

Investigations into the cause of the fire is underway.
