Veld fires specially in the dark always offers good photo opportunities, but that is the only thing good I can say about that.

Veld fires remain a concern for both town councils and farmers alike as fires pose a danger to residential areas in and around towns, while it destroys valuable grazing for farmers. Apart from destroying grazing,  infrastructures like fencing, pipelines and cattle posts are also at risk. Last night fire fighters from the Windhoek City had their hands full after a piece of land on the western parts of Windhoek was set alight by an unknown person. Although it was not a threat to any property firefighters kept a close eye to ensure the fire doesn't run out of control and could become a threat.
