Windhoek City Police officers had their hands full with some motorists caught while driving under the influence. The worst case of alleged drunken driving was a young man whose alcohol volume measured a staggering 1.19 almost three times the limit. Apart from being under the influence he will face a court case as the vehicle he was driving collided with another and the impact caused the sedan to come to a stand still against a wall. Both vehicles were damaged beyond repair while a third car parked on the premises was also damaged.
Apart from the normal roadblocks and testing of drivers the City Police is also concerned by the amount of youngsters hanging around shebeens, while shebeen owners still sell liquor to the under aged.
