Top Cop said NO tolerance for illegal informal drinking houses ( shebeens)

The Namibian Police Chief 

this afternoon made it clear and did not mix 

any words when he warned that no 

illegal shebeens will be tolerated. The perception 

that most crimes are planned in and around sjebeens 

is not excluded.

It is estimated that 

around 5000 illegal thousand shebeens

operate in and around Windhoek.

Many of the operators do not adhere to restrictions

as stipulated on their applications. 

The notorious Evelyn street in Katutura 

is home to the most dense sjebeen and 

car wash operators in the capitol.
