Elderly couple attacked on their farm this past weekend in the Karas region.



Police in negotiations to close doors on crime in the Greater Brakwater Area, and another door forced open by criminals in the southern parts of our country. The Afrikaanse Daily "Die Republikein" reported that an elderly couple was attacked and robbed on their farm :Grundorn" in the Klein Karas area. 

The farmer 74 year old Hendrik Loft Eaton and his wife 64 year old Moira was in their house. Moira went outside to investigate why the TV signal was all of a sudden interrupted when she was stabbed by an Afrikaans speaking person. The intruder forced her back into the house and demanded money and firearms. Her husband who was in bed already herd the commotion and upon investigation and assisting his wife was also attacked. The intruder fled with more than 3-thousand seven hundred dollar, a hunting rifle and the couples all wheel drive Nissan. Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Isaak confirm the incident and said it is a matter of time before the suspect will be apprehended and arrested. The vehicle was found close to a take away in Keetmanshoop in the Karas region
Moira was stabbed at least 20 times with an unknown sharp object, and her condition is stable according to relatives. She is described as a strong person and by yesterday she had time to tell jokes in her hospital bed in Keetmashoop where she is under treatment. 

This is the forth attack on farmers for the past 4 months, after a farmer Emanuel Kratzer ( 74) was attacked in March close to Otjiwarongo, Chris Henning ( 80 ) and his wife attacked during April close to Tsumeb, and the most recent one was when 59 year old Seppie Mowes was shot and killed on his farm close to Dordabis.
