COPPS 94.1 this weekend saw less Friday night crimes/incidents as the purpose of COPPS are yielding fruits

Community Policing and Problem Solving or in short COPPS, a joint venture between City Police and Kosmos 94.1 -a private commercial radio station in Namibia. The Idea behind the program is to bring the real live action as it unfolds in the streets of the capitol, making people understand the working conditions and dedication of our men and women in blue. The City Police is not there because of they could not find other work, or it is just another salary. The City Police is about making sure we are living in an environment free of crime, but as much as we need them , they need us. It is about deliver a service to all in Windhoek, residents, visitors, tourists must feel safe. Again during our COPPS 94.1 this weekend most of the cases were alcohol related, and several landed themselves behind bars as most of them do not adhered to the laws of Namibia. But it is not all about arresting and tickets ,,it is also about the residents of the city

is only one of many in the capitol that is
a head ache for authorities. Many
of the revelers are from other African
countries, and are under the impression
our freedom means they can do as they like, even
insult and degrade our officers. 

Taxi operators are seen by many as
a nuisance on the roads. This taxi operator
availed his vehicle to assist a few samaritans
to distribute blankets and warm clothes
to the homeless in the city.
