Five young rugby players from United 2nd team sustained injuries after they were involved in an MV accident.

Motor Vehicle Collision on the B2 route Swakop / Arandis +- 40 kms from Swakopmund. Five people in their early twenties sustained minor, less serious and serious injuries after the driver apparently lost control while travelling towards the coast. All the people involved are part of the Windhoek based United [second] rugby team enroute to the coast as they were supposed to participate in a rugby match to be played in Walvis Bay today.

All five occupants were flung from the vehicle when the vehicle left the road and overturned.

After initial stabilization at the scene all the injured were transported to the Swakopmund State Hospital and the Cottage Medi-Clinic respectively. Due to the nature of the injuries sustained two of the injured were transported to Windhoek by ambulance for specialist intervention and treatment.

A word of appreciation to those who assisted at the scene and especially assistance rendered at the scene by Nampol, Nampol Traffic, E-Med Rescue, Swakopmund Fire and Rescue Services and International SOS.
