South African media reported just before 18h00 that Former South African President Nelson Mandela was hospitalized on Saturday. Madiba is he is known was taken to a hospital in Pretoria. According to the South African Presidency he was admitted for medical attention, and Jacob Zuma's office said Mandela is doing well and there no cause to alarm. The South African Press Agency (SAPA) reported that "Mandela will receive medical attention from time to time which is consistent with his age" Zuma's office said in a statement. The SA government requested the media and public to respect his privacy and that of his family.
Mandela turn 94 in July.
