Tonight's COPPS 94.1 made history, apart from seeing a decline in most crimes, we were fortunate to stream with KSFM 94.9 in Parys ( Orange Freestate)

COPPS 94.1 had it's fair share of action tonight with various incidents, and tonight we can report back that less crime were reported in comparison with previous Fridays. COPPS 94.1 an initiative between Kosmos 94.1 and Windhoek City Police started on 13th April, and to make people aware of the importance of the City Police and the role they play in our community safeguarding us.
The worst case reported during COPPS 94.1 was a taxi owner who was robbed from his taxi by three unknown men. Both City Police and Nampol were in no time on the scene, but the assailants made an escape. While on the way to an illegal strike by a private security company, the police pulled over taxi that broke all the road safety rules in the book. When apprehended a pistol was found on him. The police upon investigation found all in order, and the man as released to carry on with his business.
Members of the Police at various mobile roadblocks also focussed on road safety, drivers licenses, drinking and driving. But in general I can say there is an improvement in most cases, as one problem area in Otjimuise was like a picnic in the park.
Again we can only thank our members of the City and Namibian Police. The most striking observation is to see how many specially young female officers are in the police force. This is really heartwarming as this was predominantly a man's work to fight crime on the streets, while women were taken up in the administration part of the police. Today male and female officers are working side by side regardless the environment to ensure our safety.
