The Windhoek City Police and their counterparts from Nampol had a busy night as a robber was shot and killed after they tried to escape with his loot in a taxi. The robbers looted a house in one of Windhoek's up market residential areas. The Police investigated and upon arriving at the scene the robbers tried to evade the police, but it did not work as they were apprehended on the Western Bypass en route to Katutura when spotted by another patrol vehicle. One suspect was shot while three of his cohorts were arrested.
In a separate incident a person died early this morning in on the intersection of Sam Nujoma Drive and the Western Bypass after a Taxi allegedly skipped a stop sign and crashed into a light pick up, One of his passengers died a horrible death, while the driver sustained serious injuries. The driver of the pick up was also seriously injured and according to paramedics on the scene both his legs are broken. The Windhoek Emergency services responded quick and could transported all injured to the various hospitals in town.
