The proposed Phosphate mining operations along the west coast of Namibia seem to head for a long and bitter struggle as environmentalists and the mining company are in loggerheads over the operations. Captains of various industries like the fishing, tourism and environmental sectors are of the opinion that the mining of phosphate from the ocean floor will disrupt the ecological system.
