Sun Karros in Daan Viljoen. An Expereince....For Many years the Daan Viljoen rest camp on the western parts of Windhoek was the spot for families and friends,,how ever the previous owners ( the government) did not understand the importance of catering for a market that is the spenders. Thus the place was neglected, and little or no maintenance was done,,,thus before long the place was in such state of neglect that no reasonable person wanted to go or take his or her family there. About three years ago the government started with a "PPP" Concept,, and the new owners knew what Daan Viljoen ment to the country, and started with a project to give the place a multi million dollar face lift. I had the honor to do an outside Broadcast For Kosmos 94.1 from the new place ,,,and boy o boy,,was i surprised? The venue compares with world class standards. There is something for everyone. Trails, game viewing, self drive 4x4 routes, chalets and camping sites, not to mention a photographers paradise, as game and bird viewing will guarantee your that "money Shot". Contrary to many local media reports of the high prices to enter, it is worth while,,you get a clean well maintained place, with as said earlier "world class facilities",,,ideal for international visitors, the executive business person, and for a family break away,,,
