Members of parliament blasted the state media for alleged pathetic service, and poor or limited coverage for government functions. Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Utoni Nujoma said the New Era, a government funded daily, is pathetic, and said Southern Times is a newspaper in terms of content and Pan-Africanism. New Era he said covers negative aspects of government. The media referred to by the MP's are the New Era and the national state broadcaster. The insert above was at a recent function when the deputy Minister of Works and Transport, Chief Ankama lambasted the state broadcaster ( NBC) about their poor service and their tendency to be late for most media functions.
